I feel like I am living in the twilight zone. Literally thousands of Palestinians are dead, hundreds still missing under the rubble, Palestinians being captured and tortured in the West Bank, Israel saying “oh we’re going to ramp up our bombing” and tonight being the worst night of bombing to date and all I hear is “both sides both sides both sides both sides-“ I feel like I’m going mad

I wish people had the energy they have for deconstructing and hating Harry Potter could also be directed at Five Nights at Freddy’s, considering the creator of FNaF is every bit as much of a transphobic bigot as JKR. And he’s even younger and can use his money for even worse shit for longer.

It’s kinda past “oh, FNaF is just an Internet meme franchise, it’s just a couple games that are only popular because Markeplier did a yell at one, pwease it’s a wittwe multi-biwwion dowwa feanchiwe uwu.” It’s everywhere, it’s as pervasive as HP now. There’s a movie now. There’s merchandise everywhere you go.

Both of them are fucking everywhere and completely inescapable this time of year, but only one has at least a little blowback.

I do wonder if some of it is that FNaF is more popular with zoomers and HP is more associated with millennials (and as tiktok won’t shut up about for the past 3 years, everything millennial is cringe and everything zoomer is based).

This is why I am not seeing the Five Nights At Freddy’s movie.

What happens when Israel dismantled and falls? Like I assume the ppl living there can’t stay even if they were born on that land so does anyone have like an idea of where to ship them off to? Cause I doubt anyone in the area wants to take care of their oppressors even if they are just civilians. Idk do u think the usa would take em? That’s honestly why I haven’t been Completely 100% anti-Israel despite being Pro-Palestine bc no one has explained what to do with Israeli’s once there is no more Israel. Like stopping the military and giving back some land is cool but if all of Israel is gone would Palestinians let them stay or would they tell them to get out by force, just as Israel did? Is this a cycle or is there an end in the works?

how many times will it become patently obvious that you guys do not listen to palestinians and are influenced by hysterical zionist claims that palestinians will do unto zionists as zionists have done to them. this position is held by many palestinians

image

not a single thing any palestinians has said about a one-state solution where everyone is equal under a democratic law, not a single thing hamas has said, is as brutal as the reality israel currently enforces on palestinians

the reality is as long as this hysterical fear persists, the less diplomatic solutions are applied, the more people accept palestinian suffering and consider the occupation as a necessary evil, the less viable this solution will become. we are not past the point of no return, but the reality is there is no fear of persecution and no past suffering on the planet that can justify the existence of the israeli nation-state. it is doubtful that change will come from within israel specifically because the vast majority of israelis do not see palestinians as humans nor do they imagine anything better than “some land back” and “a little less mean military.” israel is a theocratic terrorist state. this is how it was established, how it functions and how it operates with impunity.

israelis have chosen military security, genocide and destruction as their only path forward to maintain their state. this is not sustainable. it requires the constant and tremendous ritual sacrifice of palestinian lives to keep going. israel has even called this “mowing the lawn” and every time netanyahu does this he enjoys a boost in the polls.

palestinians have asked for legal solutions, diplomatic solutions, humanitarian solutions, democratic solutions. and yet they’re the ones seen as monsters and human animals because they refuse to accept the violent dispossession of their land. it’s pretty straight-forward. whatever happens to israel is on israel, the united states, the eu, the uk, and every international entity that has refused to hold israel accountable for their crimes, that has refused to honor the agreement to a two-state solution, that has refused palestinian self-determination, that has refused international criminal court proceedings. palestinian liberation is a just cause.

if you continue to ask “what will happen to israel” while israel enacts a genocide of two million citizens under a siege, you do not see palestinians as human, either. because the question is not “what will happen to israel.” the question is “what is israel doing right now and how can we stop it by any means necessary”

thethief1996:

700 Palestinians were killed in the last 24 hours and the airstrikes are more violent each night. Gaza’s hospitals have fuel left for two more days. Israel only allowed aid into Gaza on the condition they didn’t carry fuel. The Indonesian hospital has shut down already, because doctors have no supplies and no choice but to let the wounded die. They’re calling it a collapse but the term doesn’t do it justice.

Over a 100 incubator babies are at risk. There are 50.000 pregnant women in Gaza right now, and 5.500 due to give birth this month. Menstruating people are taking pills in order to stop their periods, because they do not have pads or water to maintain hygiene. Surgeons are operating without anesthesia. Water is not reaching Gazans because there’s no electricity or fuel for water pumps.

There’s no excuse for this. Israel justifies the airstrikes by saying they want to destroy Hamas infrastructure and release the hostages, but they have refused to negotiate for their release. Hamas informed Israel they wanted to release two elderly women without anything in return, and Israel refused. Netanyahu said they wouldn’t take their own civilians back because it was “mendacious propaganda.” When the hostages were finally released, Netanyahu prohibited the hospital from giving press releases. Yocheved Lifshitz went behind their backs and talked to the press anyway, saying she was treated very well by Hamas, but the government abandoned them. They’re being used as straw men. Israel is conditioning the entry of fuel to the release of hostages and yet, according to The Wall Street Journal, when Hamas proposed to exchange 50 hostages for fuel they denied. IDF officials have said they fear the release of more hostages because that might withhold the order to their ground invasion. They do not care as long as they can use the hostages as a pretext for their slaughtering.

There’s a turning tide for Palestine in public support. Support for Israel was built through decades of propaganda and we are making a dent into it. Zionists are desperate, holding zoom meetings to promote zionism, but we have to do so much more. We have to shame people in power into supporting the Palestinian cause.

Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices, looking to inform yourself from the sources. Palestinians have asked of us only that we share, tweet and post, over and over. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Here are some resources:

Take action. You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting (don’t be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. Only boycott additional brands if you can):

If you can, participate in direct action or donate. Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London. Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.

Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn’t condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.

The characterization of Miguel as “the bad guy”. News flash; He’s not.

I keep seeing people talking about Miguel as if he’s the villain of ATSV. Y'all. This is NOT true. People are paying too much attention to the train scene and not enough attention to his words and actions that are the main points of his characterization.

First of all, Miguel was NOT trying to hurt Miles in this movie.

The main reason why people think he was going to hurt Miles was because of the train scene, where he basically slammed Miles into the side of the train, but if you look into this scene more closely, Miguel wasn’t genuinely trying to hurt him.

image

Miguel starts off with his claws extended, trying to climb up the train toward Miles. HOWEVER-

image

The moment he lunges at Miles, trying to grab him, his claws retract. Why is this?

Because he’s not trying to hurt Miles. He’s trying to catch him.

This happens again later in the movie.

image
image

See the difference? Miguel uses his claws to rip open the Go-home machine, but immediately retracts them as to not harm Miles. If you watch the actual scene, you’ll see the claws slowly retract. Its not an animation error. It was purposefully done.

Sure, he was being aggressive. Yes, he was definitely gonna rage on Miles about this, but he was not going to hurt him.

Miguel is not the bad guy in this movie.

Miguel believes that canon events are real. He believes that he is really the only reason that the multiverse hasn’t collapsed yet and he believes that he needs to stop Miles from saving his dad because otherwise, millions of people in his dimension will die.

Second of all, Miguel is not normally an aggressive guy.

Before I start, we don’t know this for sure, but this is what I believe from what I’ve seen in the movie and online about him. I don’t believe that Miguel is normally an aggressive person.

Since we’re talking about the go-home machine, lets use that as the first piece of evidence that he’s not normally an aggressive person.

image

Look at Peter’s reaction to seeing Miguel tearing up the Go-home machine. He is petrified.

Now, if Miguel was normally the type of guy to do this, Peter would not have this kind of reaction to him going after Miles. The entire society stands back and watches Miguel demolish the machine because its never happened before. None of them have ever seen Miguel act up like this before, and its shocking. Thats why nobody reacts. Thats why they all stay silent when he’s done.

For the second piece of evidence, we have how Miguel acts when explaining canon events to Miles. He is extremely calm compared to how he is in the chase scene. He is genuinely trying to relate to Miles and comfort him because he’s not normally an aggressive person.

image

Look at his expression. Look at how his hands are up in the air, trying to calm Miles down. He’s not trying to hurt Miles. He’s trying to make Miles look at it from his point of view. Because from his point of view, the impacts of breaking a canon event are disastrous. He believes that every single person in Miles universe is going to die. And he believes that letting Jeff die instead, is the only way to stop it.

Miguel is a good person who’s been through a lot.

To us, his ideas are ridiculous, but to him, someone who’s lost so much, they’re the only thing keeping everything together.

Miguel is not the bad guy in this movie. Miguel is not the villain in this movie. We already have an established villain, and its not him. Miguel is simply an antagonist. And he’s definitely going to get the chance to redeem himself in the next movie.

This was kind of short. If I think about other stuff he does, I’ll add on, but these are like the main two reasons I didn’t think he was the villain when I watched the movie. It just wouldn’t make sense for him to be the villain. He’s literally Spider-man.
